Whitman College has an longstanding reputation of offering students a top-notch liberal arts and sciences education along with a very unique and individualized college experience.

Whitman wanted to extend the look and feel of their highly successful print publications across all web mediums. In addition to a site-wide redesign, we created a highly interactive feature called “Experience Whitman.” The goal of the feature was to give the prospective student an immersive experience that paralleled that of actually visiting campus.

In collaboration with our editorial director I conceived the idea of a feature that used the institution’s brand pillars as base for the navigation and content.

To capture the campus experience and strong message of the institution the use of video was a pinnacle element. I conducted a two day video shoot that consisted of testimonial based interviews and a walking campus tour. This footage was combined with user generated video provided by students who taped their outtakes of their lives for two weeks.
